This model is almost done! I just got back into model making recently and this is a ram chargers AA fuel dragster 1/25 scale model kit by MPC. It was a lot of fun to work on. A lot of the pieces were a little misshapen though. That made for some fun times putting it together ha ha. In any case, One more overnight session in this thing should be done!

I'm watching "Star Trek V" right now, so this seem

I'm watching "Star Trek V" right now, so this seems like a time to bring this up: I like all the so-called "bad" Star Trek films.

And you know what? I'm perfectly fine with that. Each of these films has its unique charm and quirks that make them special to me. Here are three that get derided fairly often:

"Star Trek: The Motion Picture" – Yes, it might be slow for some, but I found the story absolutely brilliant. The exploration of V'ger and the questions about consciousness and identity it raises are profound. It’s a visual feast with a deep, philosophical core that sometimes gets overlooked due to its pacing.

"Star Trek V: The Final Frontier" – This one often gets flak, but I love a certain randomness and fun about it. William Shatner's directorial choices added a layer of unpredictability. And let's not forget the actor who played Spock's brother, Sybok, Laurence Luckinbill – he absolutely nailed it, bringing a passionate and intriguing character to life.

"Star Trek Beyond" (aka "Star Trek: Too Fast, Too Furious") – How can you not enjoy Idris Elba, the bee swarm drones, and Captain Kirk's epic motorcycle ride? This film took the essence of Star Trek and infused it with modern action-adventure elements. It was a wild ride that I thoroughly enjoyed, mixing the nostalgic with the new. Great dialogue, too.

I'm embracing my love for these often underappreciated gems. After all, Star Trek is all about exploring new perspectives and boldly going where no one has gone before – even in our movie preferences!

We are knee deep in getting Vorpal#4 published and are excited about that. Jason just rewrote 4 pages in the 48-page script. Diego is going hard on pencils and Mike has already started flatting pages.

Putting together issue 4 with the team has a different dynamic. We're about two years away from our work on Issue 3 (outstanding teamwork) and our lives have moved in different ways. Jason mentioned that he took too long getting the current script in its current state, he's glad he, Diego and Mike all back together and working at it.

Here are the first three penciled pages by Diego Albuquerque. We love the bit with the monkey.

Much more to come in the coming months!

So, I finally got caught up on "The Book of Boba F

So, I finally got caught up on "The Book of Boba Fett" and "Peacemaker."

First, I enjoy both to different degrees but wasn't overwhelmed by either. Let's start with TBOBF.

I think Temuera Morrison is really good. I think Ming-Na Wen is great. And, I've enjoyed the three episodes I've seen. I would only nitpick like, the Power Rangers bikes, for instance, ridden by that anodyne Up With People bike gang. Or, some of the justification for some scenes. I also get that while Boba has stepped in for Hutt, no one seems to care and I think that's one of those floating plots. Still I trust Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, who've made Star Wars Star Wars again so i can't wait for the next episode. I really enjoy the B story more and am immersed in the entire Tusken Raider experience. Cool new Wookiee

Peacemaker, on the other hand, is a mixed bag for me. I like it. I like John Cena. I think he's the next great action star in making plus he has some X qualities that others do not. I'm just not sure where or how to focus my energy with this yet. HUGE note for me is the appearance of the best DC costume from the 1980s, Vigilante. Don't agree with his character yet -- it's very Deadpool-y. But I'm riding it out and I trust James Gunn to deliver. He has in the past.

Anyway, like TBOBF more than Peacemaker, but am enjoying both with some reservations.

It's Friday, so I'll just ask: what's your favorite comic book and why?

Mine? It's probably Cerebus by Dave Sim, specifically the Church & State run. It's brilliantly written, brilliantly drawn by Sim (and Gerhardt), and brilliantly executed. It's funny, poignant, and dramatic without taking itself too seriously. Plus, it's THE Independent comic book that got it all started for the rest of us.

Runners up? Jon Sable: Freelance by Mike Grell (Issue 17 inspired me to want to do this), Grim Jack, Moon Knight, Daredevil, Silver Surfer, Eben 07, Long John, Batman, and Captain Canuck.

It's #throwbackThursday, so let's throwback to 2011. I was noodling with 3D software and trying to get closer to the look and mood of this comic book. This is a digital piece I did to better understand who she was and what she did for a living, and what might happen if her fight or flight instinct kicked in. It was a fun render to do if only to gather some intellectual capital to build the universe and add content to the overall story. But I do love this render. 👍🙌
